Photographer of Beatles notorious Butcher Cover passes away

Bob Whitaker, the photographer who took the infamous Beatles butcher cover photographer has passed away after a lengthy illness, according to reports from friends in Liverpool. Whitaker, born in 1939, was in his early ’70s.

Giant library panel will honour Liverpool writers

A giant panel listing some of Liverpool’s literary greats is planned for the exterior of the city’s library.
Liverpool’s Central Library on William Brown Street is currently undergoing a £50m redevelopment.
The rear of the building will feature a panel called Literary Liverpool showcasing local writers.

New plan “will save” birthplace of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr

The birthplace of former Beatle Ringo Starr will not be demolished if an ambitious new renovation scheme is accepted by Liverpool council chiefs.
